Lines

• Trend line

  Alt+T

  Two points joined by a straight segment — the basic unit of chart drawing. Use it to connect swing highs or lows and make a slope explicit.

• Ray

  Alt+R

  Starts at the first point, passes through the second, and continues to the edge of the chart. Good for projecting an existing slope into the future area.

• Extended line

  Alt+E

  A line through two points that runs off both edges. Useful when a slope matters before and after the points you picked.

• Horizontal line

  Alt+H

  Marks one price across the whole chart, with its value shown on the price axis. The quickest way to note a level.

  Marks one moment in time — a candle you want to refer back to, or the start of a period you are studying.

Shapes

• Parallel channel

  Alt+C

  Place two points for the first line, then a third to set the width. The dotted middle line shows the average path.

  Alt+B

  Boxes a span of time and a band of price: ranges, consolidation zones, or just “this part”. Fill opacity is adjustable.

  Circles an area without implying exact edges — handy for pointing at a cluster of candles.

  Three corners, for converging highs and lows or any three-point relationship.

Fibonacci

• Fibonacci retracement

  Alt+F

  Drag from the start of a swing to its end. Lines appear at 0, 0.236, 0.382, 0.5, 0.618, 0.786 and 1 of the move, labelled with their prices.

  Alt+X

  Three points: swing start, swing end and the pullback. Levels at 0.618, 1, 1.272, 1.618 and 2.618 of the first swing are projected from the pullback.

  A visual risk/reward box for a rising scenario: entry, target and stop, with percentages and the reward-to-risk ratio. Purely a drawing — nothing is traded.
